Playing 'House'

Here are the foundations, stripped and exposed.

And Kim helped do it. Now I can say I'm married to a part-time stripper.
Although I wonder if he misunderstood just what kind of 'stripping' he supposed to be doing; I spent the next week slathering his poor sunburned back with aloe vera gel.

Must still be getting chilly at night, because after being stripped bare, they wanted to be covered up.

All tucked in, nice & smooth.

Look who's at the front door, it's that handsome stripper.
He's not taking any chances with sunburn today.

And here I am standing in my kitchen at the sink, washing dishes..... wait a minute, I know we're just pretending but lets keep this a little realistic..... I'm washing blackberries that I picked across the street - to feed to that cute stripper at the door.

Isn't it insane how close we are to the house next door? Explains why our house plan has so few windows along that wall, and none in the kitchen, - who wants to stare out at a blue vinyl wall? I'd much rather look at my bee-oo-ti-ful cabinets: I'm imagining cherry but I haven't seen the quotes yet so that may have to change. We're meeting with one kitchen designer tomorrow and still waiting to hear back from another. It'll be interesting to see how different the 2 company's designs are, I gave them both the same plan and quite a specific vision of what I want.

PS, to you who are new to reading blogs (Hi Mom) - if you click on a photo it'll open up bigger. (oh, except that one of me, it won't work on that one, so don't even bother trying - go take a closer look at the foundations, much more interesting)

Hi Jem,
I can see what has been keeping you so busy (oh and the house is nice too!).
Seriously though it must be so exciting to see the foundations in and be able to visualize where everything will be. Cherry cabinets sound gorgeous.
I'm looking forward to seeing samples.
Happy building, my you house rise and your budget stay low,
